The Blood of Jesus
Oh The Blood of Jesus! The perfect sacrifice was made for us all. Find out what the blood of Jesus means for you and the power in the blood. How can you apply the blood in your situation today?
What Is the Blood of Jesus?
The Blood of Jesus refers to the literal blood He shed during His suffering and crucifixion — and spiritually, it symbolizes the ultimate, once-for-all sacrifice He made to redeem mankind from sin and death.
“Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.” — Hebrews 9:22
Why the Blood? (Biblical Background)
In the Old Testament, God established that blood was required to atone for sin:
• Leviticus 17:11 – “For the life of a creature is in the blood… it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.”
• Exodus 12 – The blood of the Passover lambprotected the Israelites from death.
• Hebrews 10 – Animal sacrifices were only temporary, pointing to the perfect sacrifice to come.
Jesus fulfilled that system by becoming the Lamb of God, the perfect and final offering.
